Piolo’s “Team You” Gets Armoured
AND
Under Armour partners with the new television show “Team You”
Popular ator and celbrity athlete Piolo Pascual recently
launched “Team You”, a sports documentary series on ABS-CBN that will focus on
advocating sports and an active lifestyle at the grassroots level. An integral
part of the show’s format has Pascual and his fellow hosts exploring the sports
programs of various schools around the country, with the aim of enhancing their
development.
In-line with the show’s values, international sports apparel
brand Under Armour has formed a partnership with Team You, confident that the
show will provide an ideal channel to promote the company’s mission to make all
athletes better.
Angelica Suiza, Chief Product and eCommerce Officer of
Triple Pte Ltd. (the exclusive distributors of Under Armour in Southeast Asia),
provided keen insight on the exciting affiliation. “The overarching objectives
of Under Armour and Team You go hand-in-hand,” she pointed out. “While Under Armour’s
cutting-edge technology in our apparel and footwear is the most evident feature
of our brand, in the end, we are all about heart, passion, drive, and
determination. Team You will help bring stories like these to life.”
Indeed, the show highlights Filipino athleticism,
sportsmanship, and values to inspire the athletes featured and viewers alike.
Some of the public schools and students who will appear on the program are from
humble backgrounds, in an effort to show the reality of some of our countrymen.
This show aims to give hope to those whose keen love for sports drives their
aspirations to become champion athletes, no matter where they are from.
Piolo Pascual and co-host Gerald Anderson, along with
co-hosts/athletes Gretchen Ho, Armand del Rosario, Anton del Rosario, and Marco
Benitez, will travel to schools in Cebu, Genral Santos City, ad Metro Manila to
look for the next Filipino champions. Their search will lead them to young
stars that need help in reaching the next level of their potential.
The hosts themselves are advocates and users of Under Armour
performance apparel in their daily lives. Both professional athletes and
recreational athletes in “Team You” make use of the HeatGear technology incorporated
into the apparel, most notable Gretchen Ho and the del Rosarios, whose respective
sports require constant movement. The HeatGear technology wicks away sweat and
keeps the wearer cool in the heat of the battle.
“Our mission is to make all athletes better through
cutting-edge design and the relentless pursuit of innovation. We’re happy to be
part of ushering in the next geeration of Philippine athletes.” Suiza
concluded.
TEAM U SET TO SHAPE ATHLETIC ASPIRATIONS OF THE FILIPINO YOUTH
With an obvious boom in the Philippines’ sports scene, aspiring young athletes from all over have started to dream even bigger, reaching for higher heights in their respective fields.
This is something that the all-new sports documentary and advocacy program, “Team U,” seeks to address—hitting television screens on ABS-CBN Sports+Action and Balls channels with the aim to help these young Filipino athletes realize their dreams through inspirational stories.
It is with this that “Team U” also aims to encourage viewers and organizations from both public and private sectors to be part of building a Sports School - an institution that aims to develop athletes through proper training and development under the wing of acclaimed sports practitioners.
This Sports School intends to provide an opportunity for every Filipino child to dream and live out their passion for sports through education.
For its first season, the show will travel to three schools that are being looked at as pilot regional campuses under the Sports School, namely Rizal High School in Pasig City, Abellana National High School in Cebu, and General Santos City High School in General Santos City.

R3RUN: RUN FOR SUSTAINABILITY Registration Opens June 5!
Eco-friendly tissue paper manufacturer organizes Run for Sustainability When business is linked to social conscience, seldom consumers appreciate the connections. But there is one eco-friendly tissue paper manufacturer in the Philippines that for a decade now endures to balance these two opposing principles. “We endure to strike a balance between profit and social conscience,” says Quanta Paper Corporation president & general manager Steven Leung. Founded on business principle of sustainable practices, Quanta Paper manufactures hygienic tissue products using used office paper as raw materials instead of virgin fibers. This thrust is geared towards preservation of world’s rainforest where deforestation remains a traditional practice in the paper making industry to extract virgin fibers.
This August 10, 2014, the Company will launch its most aggressive green campaign in a form of a fun run activity. The Run for Sustainability, or dubbed as R3RUN (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle Run) is designed to inspire environmental action among Filipino consumers and raise awareness on climate change. It also aims to educate consumers on the importance of green labelled products and how patronizing them could help in a way to protect our planet.
Integrated through a healthy and fun lifestyle activity, the R3RUN serves both a strategic marketing and social responsibility tools of the Company. “We would like to be more loudly in telling our story of sustainable practices and at the same time capitalize in building our brand equity,” says Quanta Paper corporate strategist and Race Committee head Neil Erich Galicia. The Company finds that most Filipinos do not have enough knowledge on climate change and the threat that it poses to the country and to the world. “The Run is a step forward to begin a bold and concrete action. In this way we could start a wave that could reach through every corner of our archipelago.” He explained.
Proceeds of this event will support the Company’s continued social responsibility efforts.
